Project Details
Built into a hillside overlooking the bushveld, this Hazy View home runs a light, cream-toned stone through its flooring and a floating staircase that appears to hover without visible support, holding the same restrained material through the more sculptural architectural gestures. In the kitchen and bathroom, a matching light stone forms the countertops, cut with a clean waterfall edge and finished to integrate flush with the basins set into it. Round porthole windows and timber-slat cabinetry provide the home's warmth, with the stone kept deliberately pale and quiet so it never competes with the mountain views the architecture was built to frame.
