Project Details
At House Hendricks in Claremont, grey-and-white speckled granite links the flooring, staircase and fireplace in one continuous material story. The stone carries across the staircase treads and risers, including its curved lower turn, before reappearing around the gas fireplace in a mitred surround and hearth. Its textured pattern brings contrast to the home’s classic interior, where painted wainscoting, moulded ceilings and traditional detailing provide a more restrained backdrop. Rather than appearing as an isolated feature, the granite connects the rooms through repeated use across the floor and key architectural elements.
