At House Uys in Constantia, grey veined marble carries a consistent thread from the kitchen into the bathrooms. In the kitchen, it covers the long worktop and full-height splashback behind the hob, while a substantial marble-clad island provides a second focal point with an undermount sink. The veining brings movement to the broad surfaces, set against warm timber cabinetry and crisp chrome fittings. In the bathrooms, the marble continues across the walls and floors, wrapping the glass enclosed shower and freestanding bath. Used at this scale, the stone gives the home a strong sense of material continuity while allowing the character of each slab to remain visible.
